Follow our step-by-step guide for a gorgeous natural look that’ll help define all your beautiful features.

But First, Prep!

No brilliant makeup look has ever started with a neglected complexion, so get started on the right foot by cleansing, treating and moisturising your skin.

Once your skin is looking happy and healthy after your skincare routine, start off with your base. Select your favourite illuminating foundation for a naturally, radiant glow and stave off any unwanted shiny patches with a dusting of loose powder.

It’s All in The Eyes

Just because we’re going for a smokey eye look, don’t feel confined to using black eyeshadow. A smokey eye can be built up from grey, browns, forest green or even plum tones. Let your makeup match your mood.

If you need your makeup to last a long time (who doesn’t!?) then start by applying an eyeshadow primer over both of your eyelids. This will give your shadow plenty of staying power.

Now for colour! Apply a mid to dark hue across your eyelids, start from the lash line and taking it up to the crease to create a subtle smokey base. Switch to a darker colour and apply it along the lash line, then using the same hue, gently press it to the root of the lower lashes.

Armed with a blending brush, blend out any harsh lines using a windscreen-like motion and define your eyes by lining the top lash line with an eyeliner pencil. Gently smudge this out before going over the top with the darker colour hue.

Blend, blend and blend some more until there are no more defined lines.

Shine Bright

Neutral doesn’t have to be reserved, so use a touch of shimmer to turn your smokey eye from office chic to dance floor beauty. Select a shadow, with a hint of sparkle in it, and blend into your eyelid creases and apply to the inner corners.

To frame your eyes, apply several coats of a lengthening mascara for utterly fluttery lashes.
