Superdrug Presents: Cottage Core

The Cottage Core makeup look takes its inspiration from the Cottage Core aesthetic which encompasses interior design, fashion and food. It’s whimsical, feminine, fun and youthful. It can be interpreted in two distinctive ways. The first is very natural – with natural textured skin, freckles and a dewy finish. Rosy blush is applied liberally across the cheeks and over the bridge of the nose. The rest of the face is kept natural, with neutral eyeshadow, long lashes and combed, fluffy brows. The second way this look can be interpreted is much bolder and brighter. Using similar techniques to the more natural interpretation and replacing the colours for bold and bright yellows, oranges and pinks. Blusher is distinctively applied to the nose and white dots or “freckles” to the cheeks for a highly creative look.
