Sometimes we all need a little extra help. Emla numbing cream minimises the pain of tattoos, cosmetic or medical needle and laser procedures. Emla is a trusted brand, available in the UK for more than 20 years. It can be used to numb the pain of cosmetic procedures such as microneedling, laser hair removal, microblading, fillers or other cosmetic injections, tattoo application and removal, or medical procedures involving needles or lasers, such as blood tests, vaccinations and routine injections. There are a range of packs available. The 30g tube is ideal for numbing larger areas of skin (e.g. before tattoos or laser hair removal). The 5g tube is suitable for numbing small areas of skin (e.g. before immunisations or blood tests).

Emla should be applied and covered with a suitable dressing about an hour before a procedure (less when applying to the face) so that the cream is absorbed into the skin and not accidentally wiped off. Some packs have the right dressings included in them; others only contain a tube of cream.
