Steps to Achieve the Vintage Pinup Hair
Step 1: Side Parting
Part your hair to the side using a pintail comb. Brush through to untangle knots and flatten.
Step 2: Section your Hair
Section your hair into front and back sections. Clip the back in place and focus on the front for now.
Step 3: Curl
Take a section of the front layer and curl facing away from your face.
Step 4: Pin in Place
Wrap the hair around your fingers to create a loop and pin into place. Repeat this with all sections of your front layer.
Step 5: Section the back
With the back layer of hair, section again into two to create top and bottom layers.
Step 6: Repeat Process
Repeat what you have done with the front sections with the remaining top and bottom sections. Curl, roll and pin. Hold
The Look so far...
Once all your sections are pinned into place, fix with hairspray to hold the curls and allow the heat to cool.
Step 7: Release the curls
Once your curls have set, unravel them starting from the back. Be sure to leave the front curls in.
Step 8: Brush through
Brush through the loose curls to detangle and create a wavy look.
Step 9: Front Curls
Now it is time to unravel your front curls. Try to still keep the front and back curls separate.
Step 10: Backcomb
Club the front curls together and backcomb them together to merge and create volume. To neaten, you can smooth them down at the front.
Step 11: Create your Roll
With the newly backcombed front section of hair, wrap around your fingers to create a victory roll. Pin this into place at the top of your head.
Step 12: Repeat
Repeat this process: Backcomb, neaten, roll and pin. Fix the look with hairspray to finish. Done!
