Cardi B’s MUA Shares Her Flawless Finish Makeup Look

Your Step-By-Step Guide

Step 1: Prep The Eyes

Always start with the eyes so that you can remove fallout from the eyeshadow and clean up any mistakes made using a concealer. I pat concealer all over the lid from the lash line to the brow bone, this really lets pigments in your eyeshadow pop as well as prevents creases and will keep your eyeshadow on all night long. I find that I keep reaching for the EX1 Cosmetics Delete Fluide Concealer, it’s super lightweight but provides incredible coverage with a beautiful satin finish.

Step 2: Apply the Eyeshadow & Linear

Now that your eye area is flawless use a base eyeshadow to set the concealer.

I used Rude Cosmetics' Roaring 20s Eyeshadow Palette. I like to use the shade ‘So Keen’ as a transition colour across the lid and blend through the crease. I then blend the shades ‘And Howi’ and ‘On The Level’ all over the eye. Finally, I like to use a dark matt shade such as ‘Dapper’ on the outer corner to get the smoky eye effect.

To get the party look I use my finger to pack on a light shimmer on to the inner corner of the lid glow. The camera will pick up the shimmer and really make you sparkle!

Finally, I apply liner to give the eye more definition and create the ultimate glam look.

Step 3: Prep the Skin

Wipe away any eyeshadow fallout and prepare the skin. Using a primer is key if you want your makeup to last all night. The B. Perfect Base Prep & Set Mist Primer is awesome, I’ve loved using this product on Cardi and it keeps your make-up perfectly in place.

Step 4: Foundation

Apply foundation all over the face. Finding a foundation that works with the undertones of your skin is the key to a flawless look. One of my absolute go-to foundations for myself and also Cardi is the EX1 Cosmetics Invisiwear Liquid Foundation. The match is so seamless and the shades are amazing for hard to match the skin. I love using it at parties and red carpet events as it doesn’t cause camera flashback. It is all about the blending! Blend your foundation using a brush or sponge. Make sure to blend the product evenly across the face and remember to blend down the neck as well.

Step 5: Define, sculpt & highlight

I apply concealer under the eye and to the areas of the face to highlight. Again, I use the Delete Fluide Concealer as it provides maximum coverage and I use it in a couple of shades darker just to contour the face. Contouring is really important on camera as it will help to give the face structure. Set using a pressed powder and wipe away the excess powder.

Step 6: Blusher

Finally, to finish off the look apply blusher to the high points of the cheek. This will complete your look and give you a chic chiselled look on camera. I used the EX1 Blusher in Pretty in Peach as the pigments are beautiful and it really makes the cheekbones pop.
