Send shivers up the spines of fellow partygoers with our spider Halloween makeup look. Complete with a sultry smoky eye, spidery brows and creepy cobwebs; one thing’s for sure: you’ll be scaring your way through this spooky season.
Step 1: Prep your face
Prep your skin by applying a primer all over the face and smoothing it in with your fingers.
Step 2: Apply your base
Using either a beauty sponge or foundation brush, buff in your favourite foundation for a flawless skin finish.
Next, touch up any blemishes using concealer, and pat it in with your fingers or a concealer brush for more precision.
Step 3: Brush through your brows
Groom your brows with a clear or tinted brow gel to neaten and define each hair. For more of a spidery look, brush your brows upwards rather than across.
If any areas are looking a little sparse, use an eyebrow pencil to fill in the gaps.
Step 4: Enhance your eyes
Apply a dark eyeshadow to create a smoky base. Next, line your top and bottom lashline with a black eyeliner for extra drama and definition.
Using a flat eyeshadow brush, apply a light cream eyeshadow shade below the crease. To frame your eyes, apply the same shade to your brow bone, too.
Then, apply a dark brown shade in your outer corner and use a fluffy eyeshadow brush to blend the two shades together.
Step 5: Crack out the cream blush
Use a large fluffy brush, swirl it into a pink cream blush, and apply it to the apples of the cheeks and along the top of the cheekbones for a lifted look.
Set the blush in place with a light layer of clear setting powder using a large, fluffy brush.
Step 6: Start your spider web
For the lines of the web, draw on the top edge of an eyelash curler and stamp it around the eye in a circle formation. Then, use your eyeliner pen to connect the lines horizontally, just like a web IRL.
Top tip: If you’re matching with your bestie, why not differentiate your cobwebs? Instead of the spider web surrounding both eyes, your friend could have one web coming upwards out of one eye and another web going downwards from the other eye.
Step 7: Apply purple lipstick
Apply a deep purple lipstick for the perfect, vampy pout. If you’re feeling grungy, outline your lips with the black eyeliner pen and top with a coat of red lip gloss.
