Swap spooky for sweet this Halloween, with a makeup look that’s part-diva, part-delicious. We’ve called her ‘Candy Queen’, thanks to the sugary shades and sprinkles-on-top finish. Enlisting the help of pro makeup artist, Dolli Okoriko, alongside beauty faves Maybelline and NYX Professional Makeup, here’s how to completely transform into your sweetest self this season.
How To: Candy Queen Halloween Look
Step 1: Go pink
Create a pale pink base all over your face and neck with pink face paint. Once dried, take white face paint and draw under the eyes and along the T-zone. Buff it out for a blended effect.
Step 2: Create a colour-pop contour
Using pigment-rich shades (we love NYX’s neon palette for this step) start contouring in your usual spots (think temples, cheekbones, jawline, sides of the nose) layering up red and blue shades for hints of purple along the way.
Step 3: Go bold on the eyes
Take a punchy aqua blue eyeliner and create a graphic-inspired outline, drawing along the upper eyelid (below the brow, above the eyelid crease) sweeping up and parallel under the eyes too.
Inside the shape, add block colour over the eyelids using a high-contrast yellow eyeliner until it meets up with your blue lines. Bring the colours together by blending in a blue or purple powder at the edges. Finish up with black liquid eyeliner along the upper lash line and white kohl eyeliner along the lower lash line.
Step 4: Bring the drama
Because nothing about this look is subtle, add babydoll-inspired lashes (the more drama the better) and lashings of mascara to your lower lashes.
Step 5: Add contrast to your lips
Lightly line and colour in lips, using a dark pink-hued liner. Go over your outline using a blue eyeliner for maximum wow factor.
Step 6: Just add sprinkles
Sprinkles make everything better, right? Create them using candy-coloured eyeliners, from pink to white, alternating the short lines across the cheeks and nose.
