Your flights are booked; the hotel looks lavish and your mate’s already packed their half of the suitcase (ain’t nobody paying for two hold bags – #savvy). Point is, you’re ready for your summer hols – seriously, days spent lazing on the beach can’t come soon enough. And for those of you who like to put on a little slap in the sunshine, we’ve come up with the perfect pre-beach makeup routine. It’s light, it’s gorgeous and it’s aaaall vegan.
Stay safe with SPF
Whatever the weather, you should always be wearing SPF, but it’s especially important in the summer and when you’re on the beach. Even if you spend the whole time in the shade, UV rays can bounce off sand and water. Apply an even coat of Solait Face Sun Cream Fluid SPF50 all over your face and neck – and don’t forget your ears! PS: This one is also an anti-ageing formula! #winning!
Lookin’ luminous
To get that natural glow we spend our lives lusting after, you need B. Cassie Lomas Sheer Liquid Illuminator. It’s super-lightweight, which is both great for boiling beach weather and giving you a natural look. Apply with your fingers to the high points of your face that the sun would naturally hit, such as cheekbones, bridge of the nose and Cupid’s bow.
Perfect where necessary
For beachy vibes, skip foundation. Let your skin breathe in the heat and just use concealer where necessary. The B. Flawless Concealer Duo comes with two shades: use the lighter one to brighten up the under-eye area and the darker one to conceal any problem areas. For a natural, second-skin kinda look, apply the product with a concealer brush, then blend out with your finger using tapping motions.
Bronzed and beachy
For eyes, we’re using one of our fave shadows, Bleach London Legal Highlights in Berwick Street Floor. This colour is gorgeous for the beach – it’ll give you bronzy lids with a hint of sparkle for a summer glow. Sweep all over your lids for a stunning wash of colour, and finish with a lick of mascara.
Get that glow
You don’t need to sit in the sun to get that gorge sunkissed look. A touch of bronzer will do the job. We used B. Cassie Lomas Whipped Bronzer, which is simple to blend and great for achieving a natural beachy look. Apply the product with a duo fibre stippling brush for a light look, taking it all around the outside of your face for that lit-from-within look. Apply it to areas where you want a bit more definition (like your cheekbones) but make sure it’s a soft finish. You’re going for sunkissed not contoured.
Flush of colour
Now for blush. Nothing says summer like a delicately flushed cheek. Pick up some B. Lip & Cheek Tint in Berry Nice on your finger, tap any excess onto the back of your hand, smile and apply the product to the apples of your cheeks. Use patting motions to blend the product until you’ve got a gorgeous youthful glow. You can also use this on your lips, which we 10/10 recommend as it really ties the look together.
Set and you’re sorted
Set your makeup with B. Pro Makeup Setting Powder. Take some of the product on a smaller-sized fluffy brush and sweep it under your eyes to set the concealer, then apply it to your T-zone to stop it getting shiny. The key is not to go crazy with it – just apply it where needed.
