Don’t get us wrong, we love a good smoky eye, but sometimes you just want a pop of brightness in your Christmas makeup… right? The hype around colour blocking isn’t going anywhere any time soon, so we asked Amy-Rose Walker (@amyrosewalker) to tailor the trend to the party season. Both bright and warm, this look is giving us seriously glam vibes and will be perfect for any Christmas or New Year’s Eve party.
Start subtle
Lay the Running Late shade from the Makeup Revolution x Soph Eyeshadow Palette in Extra Spice in the eye crease and blend it up towards your brow bone. Simply blend through the crease with a fluffy brush, building up the pigment with layers of shadow until you’re happy with the intensity.
Add more intensity with the Sweet and Sour shade from the same palette. Focus the colour in the crease to get that perfectly blended depth.
Time for a pop
Now for something brighter – strawberry-toned red, anyone?! Apply the Twenty-One shade to your eyelid and blend up towards your crease, working with the shadow until you’ve got a seamless finish.
Ray of sunshine
It may be winter, but that doesn’t mean we can’t use sunshine yellow. Blend the shade Vitamin C along your lower lash line using a damp brush to make the pigment pop.
Line and define
Define your upper lash line with a swoop of MUA Eye Define Felt Liner and apply a lick of Maybelline Colossal Volum’Express Mascara to your lashes.

Lips to finish
You’re almost ready to party – just gotta finish off the look with lippy. Since we’ve gone bold on the eyes, we’re opting for a subtle pout. Line your lips with Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in Addiction 18, then fill with a sweep of Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick in Loyalist.
