Step 1 - Draw the first line
Using a felt or liquid liner – you can opt for gel too but the line may be thicker from the offset - draw a line from the middle of your upper lash line to the outer corner, keeping as close to the lash line as possible. Start off with a thin line so that if you make any mistakes, you can simply disguise them by thickening the line later on.
Step 2 - Join up the line
Next, join the line from the middle of your eyelid to the inner corner, ensuring you keep a steady hand. Keep the line fairly thin, as the emphasis should be on the outer corner of the eye.
Step 3 - Thicken the line
Use your finger to pull skin taut at the end of your eyebrow and make it easier to create the cat eye flick. Start at the outer corner of your eye and carefully draw a line following the curve of your eye towards the end of your eyebrow. Starting at the end of the line you’ve just drawn, work your way back towards the middle of your eye using a light sketching technique in short strokes. This is your opportunity to make the line as thick and dramatic as you like.
Step 4 - Draw underneath the lashes
Run the liner along the lash line again, but this time from underneath lashes. This will make sure the liner reaches right the way into the roots of your lashes, without leaving any gaps, and creates a natural finish.
