Steps to Achieve the Natural Look with Makeup
Step 1: Apply Foundation
After you have moisturised your skin, go for a natural foundation tone. You can find out what foundation shade and finish to go for in our ultimate guide to foundation. Blend the foundation gently by dabbing it on your skin rather than rubbing then product in. This way you will achieve better coverage and an even tone.
Step 2: Conceal, conceal, conceal
Apply concealer either with your ring finger or with a concealer brush. Feel free to conceal areas that need an extra helping hand – be it under your eyes or on areas where you spot a blemish. Blend the concealer with a brush or a blending sponge.
Step 3: Apply translucent powder
To make the look last longer, apply translucent powder, focusing on the T-zone, or areas that are prone to getting that unwanted glow.
Step 4: Get that sunkissed glow
Apply bronzer to give your face a subtle contour. Imagine the outline of the number “3” and apply the product in that motion.
Step 5: Add blusher
To apply blusher, simply smile and dust over the apples of your cheeks.
Step 6: Define your brows
As this is a natural look, we will simply give our brows subtle definition rather than use the pencil to redefine them completely. Brush up first and then fill in your brows with a pencil. Remember, go for gentle strokes, not harsh strong lines.
Step 7: Apply light eye shadow
Apply a light, natural coloured eye shadow shade on to your lid up to the crease. This can be an off-white or beige shade. Simply dust it on, don’t intensify the colour.
Step 8: Curl your eye lashes
Now it’s time to gently curl your eye lashes. Go for 5 pumps on each side. This will help to really open up your eye and enhance the natural look.
Step 9: Apply mascara
Apply mascara to the bottom lashes first as this will help prevent smudges appearing on your lids. Continue with your usual mascara application technique. As this is a natural look, go for a lengthening mascara rather than a volumising one.
Step 10: Go for a nude lip
To complete the look, apply nude lipstick.
