Step 1: Create a soft cut crease
After applying foundation and primer, start on your eye makeup. Apply a nude shade all over the eye first and follow with a darker nude or pink along the eye socket, creating a blended cut crease.
Step 2: Apply all that glitters
Mix eye primer with pink glitter on your hand. Take the glitter mix with your ring finger and pat on to the eye up until the crease.
Step 3: Go for mascara
Apply volumising mascara to thicken your lashes, and follow with faux eye lashes. Here’s a tutorial on how to put fake eyelashes on.
Step 4: Line your eyes gently
As the eye makeup is already quite striking, we’re going to go for a gentle wing. Using a felt eyeliner, lightly underline your lash line finishing with a small wing. Repeat on the other eye.
Step 5: Glitter clean up
Often when you apply glitter, you will find that it ends up falling everywhere! Not to worry. Simply use a powder brush to brush off the fallen glitter off your cheeks or collar bones, applying setting powder while at it too!
Step 6: Add highlighter
Apply highlighter just above your cheek bones. Opt for a beautiful shade with golden or rose gold shimmer.
Step 7: Accentuate your brows
Intensify your brows with gentle strokes that mimic brow hair. Brush through to tidy up if needed.
Step 8: Finish with gloss
To complete this look, apply a beautiful nude or pink lip gloss. Set the look with fixing spray.
Prom Makeup: Subtle Bronze and Metallics
Are you going for an embroidered boho prom dress? This makeup idea is simply made for you. Feel free to mix up the eyeshadow, depending on the colour of your dress. We’ve gone for the metallic blue.

Step 1: Apply primer and foundation for a flawless finish
To make sure your makeup stays on all night, start with a primer and follow with a silk foundation for a dewy look. If you have problem areas or dark circles under your eyes, go ahead and apply concealer.
Step 2: Time for eye makeup
Start by priming your eyelids and apply a beautiful nude shade all over. This will be our base colour. Follow this by a metallic brown colour. Pat this shade in up until the crease. Go for a fluffy brush and apply a lighter shade of blue around the crease. Add an intense blue on the outer corner of your eye and underneath to complete the eye shadow look.
Step 3: Brush the brows into place
To make sure our prom look is perfect, brush the brows into place using brow gel.
Step 4: Lashes, lashes, lashes
Curl your lashes using a curler and apply lengthening mascara. Go for a few coats for a defined look, and don’t forget your bottom lashes!
Step 5: Define your waterline with the colour blue
Line your waterline with a blue or navy eyeliner. This will help to intensify the look.
Step 6: Time for bronzer and highlighter
Apply bronzer to areas of your face that will tan naturally. After that – highlight above your cheekbones, along your nose and across your forehead. This is where your skin will naturally reflect the light. After you finish highlighting and bronzing, dust over some powder to mattify the glow slightly.
Step 7: Go for a bronze metallic liquid lipstick
To finish the look, apply a beautiful shade of bronze metallic liquid lipstick. Spray makeup setting spray for the look to stay on all day and night!
Looking great!
Enjoy your new bronzed metallic look!
Prom Makeup: Vintage Glam
Keen on a beautiful vintage dress? Here’s what you’ll need to get the look inspired by the sirens of the silver screen:
Lottie London Stamp eyeliner Wing Edition Black
£0.10
As we will be wearing liquid lipstick for this look, it’s important to moisturise your lips. After you finish moisturising, apply primer and matte foundation on to your face, followed by concealer on problem areas and dark circles. Finish with loose powder to mattify the look completely and control unwanted shine.
Step 2: Brush your eyebrows
Before applying brow gel, brush your brows. Once you are happy with the shape, set in place with the gel.
Step 3: Time for eye makeup
Prime your eyelids. Use a natural nude shade as a base. Go for a slightly darker hue in your crease. Apply it in circular motions. Once you’ve finished with the eye shadow, go for faux lashes and line your eyes with a black eyeliner. If you are keen on a dramatic cateye, go for it! Blend your lashes with the falsies with a few coats of mascara!
Step 4: Bronze and highlight the contours of your face
Add that fresh sun kissed glow using bronzer. After that, highlight above your cheekbones, along your nose and just lightly across your forehead.
Step 5: Go for a 30s dramatic lip
Line your lips, starting with an X shape on the Cupid’s bow. Follow your natural lip line. Afterwards, fill your lips in with a dramatic shade of dark burgundy.
