Washing your hands should be something we do on a regular basis throughout the day. It is one of the best ways to prevent germs from spreading and to protect yourself from illnesses such as the flu.
When should I be washing my hands?
You should be washing your hands:
– Before and after handling raw foods like meat and vegetables
– Before eating or handling food
– After blowing your note, sneezing or coughing
– After using the toilet
– After changing a nappy
– After touching any animal, including pets.
– After travelling on public transport
If you do not have access to clean running water and soap, then using an alcohol-based hand sanitiser after any of these situations will also work.
