Apprenticeships
Superdrug has offered Apprenticeships for over a decade and has helped over 1,500 people receive a recognised apprenticeship qualification. We offer an award winning programme and are dedicated to building and growing how we can help young people get started in a career in retail.
Over 75% of those who complete an apprenticeship with Superdrug receive a permanent role, and in 2017 just over 10% of those who completed the course also received a promotion within a year. We think our ability to offer a clear pathway to progression is a fundamental part of the success with our programme.
As well as offering apprenticeships in our stores there are opportunities in head office and in our distribution centre too. The scheme is always evolving and we are launching an Apprenticeship Diversity Champion Network and Apprenticeship Diversity Ambassadors to underline how important inclusion and diversity is throughout our business.
2019 sees the launch of the Logistics Academy offering the chance to gain a Warehouse & Storage Apprenticeship. Superdrug is working with schools and colleges local to their distribution centres in Dunstable and Pontefract to showcase this new opportunity. Once the apprenticeship is completed graduates may have the opportunity to stay within the distribution network or move to other areas of the business.
Another new opportunity being launched in line with National Apprenticeship Week is a Higher Level, Level 3 Team Manager Apprenticeship. This new 15 month programme offers School Leaver Apprentices a progression route into retail management and fast track young talent to Assistant Manager roles.
