The company created a new name using M (from Moustache) plus E (from (Emanuelle) plus XX (an abbreviation for "kiss kiss" ). Fragrances were offered by Mexx as early as 1996. Mexx fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Benoist Lapouza and Nathalie Lorson.
