The SELFCheck Bowel Health Test kit is an easy to use and hygienic faecal occult blood test kit to detect hidden blood in a stool sample at home. Approximately 95% of cases of colon (bowel) cancer result from benign tumours called polyps that grow inside the colon. This means that this type of cancer is one of the few where early detection can help prevent the development of tumours. Polyps in the colon often remain undetected for many years until they develop into the cancerous form. If a colon polyp is found in time and removed, it can halt the development of bowel cancer. Early detection of bowel cancer is very important and everyone over he age of 40 should perform a yearly faecal occult blood test to minimise risks. The SELFCheck Bowel Health Test kit gives results within 10 minutes at home without the need to send the sample away.

Product Uses
The SELFCheck Bowel Health Test requires a small stool (faeces) sample, hygienically collected using the collection stick provided. The sample is then placed in a developer solution and dropped onto a test cassette which gives a simple yes/no answer as to whether blood has been detected. The test takes 10 minutes to complete and does not need to be sent away. It is advised that should you have any concerns or questions about your test result that you consult your Doctor.

Instruction leaflet and carton are recyclable, other components should be discarded with general household waste.
Tips and Advice
The SELFCheck Bowel Health Test can be used at any time of the day during a bowel movement. No dietary restrictions are required with the FIT technology used in the test. In women, the test should not be performed within 3 days of your period.
