Every June, all over the world, Pride is celebrated by millions of people from the LGBT+ community with their friends and family. This summer, along with so many other annual events, Pride has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
However, just because the celebrations can’t continue outside, it doesn’t mean the show can’t go on! This year, we’re fully embracing #PrideInside, so grab your rainbow flags and give some of our stay at home Pride ideas a go, including our utterly fabulous new Pride Instagram filter.
1. Show us your Pride face
Let your creativity flow throughout the month of Pride with colourful, rainbow and glitter inspired makeup looks. Tag us in your beautiful creations on social using the hashtag #PrideInside so we can see your work!
Who knew lockdown would turn so many of us into novice bakers? From baking banana bread to piles of flapjacks, isolation has had so many of us giving Mary Berry a run for her money! Create your own showstopping, multi-coloured layer cake to celebrate the day.
3. Raise a Rainbow Coloured Glass
Wash your rainbow cake down with a vividly coloured cocktail or mocktail. Whether you opt for a fruit filled punch or a specially layered drink for one - what would a celebration with loved ones be without a drink to cheers!
4. Transform Your Home with Colour
When it comes to Pride, there is no such thing as ‘too much’ - so go nuts! Turn your home into a rainbow inspired, colourful, totally fabulous abode! We’re talking rainbow balloons and arches, Pride banners and bunting and flags flying from your windows. The more vibrant the better! If you can’t physically go to Pride, then bring Pride to you!
5. Pride? We Have a Filter For That!
Get into the spirit of Pride this June with our brand-new Pride Instagram filter coming in June. Watch this space for more info!
6. Hold an LGBT+ Movie Night
If glitter and chasing rainbows isn’t quite for you, then why not mark the occasion by arranging an LGBT movie night with your house mates or watch simultaneously with a loved one on video chat? Movies such as ‘Jenny’s Wedding’, ‘Weekend’ and ‘Love, Simon’ are all up there on our watch lists!
