Volunteering in the Community
Giving something back is important to Superdrug and our colleagues. That’s why we always have a charity of the year voted for by customers and colleagues.
Currently our charity partner is Marie Curie and our colleagues have been involved in volunteering for the charity in many ways. People have volunteered their time collecting for Marie Curie, or held personal challenges asking for sponsorship and support from their friends and family, and colleagues have worked with the charity’s hospices across the country offering beauty services such as hand massages and nail treatments for patients, their families and the team of Marie Curie nurse and hospice workers.
Every year our parent company holds a day for all colleagues across the world in to get involved in volunteering and fundraising for good causes. The Global Volunteering Day, that’s 140,000 colleagues in 24 markets getting involved! During the 2018 day over 66,500 hours were volunteered to help over 35,000 people!
On a more local level we’ve set up a school reading programme between our head office based in Croydon and St Mary’s primary school to enable our head office colleagues to give a little time locally to support the next generation.
