The SELFCheck Gluten Sensitivity Test kit is a simple and reliable way to find out if you have coeliac disease, a common type of gluten sensitivity. Results take just 5 minutes and the test is used at home. The symptoms of coeliac disease are often confused with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and can include bloating, wind, diarrhoea, malnutrition and skin disorders. Coeliac disease is initially diagnosed with a blood test that detects Immunoglobulin A tissue transglutaminase antibodies (IgA tTG).
Around 1 in 100 people have coeliac disease but most have not yet been diagnosed as the symptoms are easily confused with other digestive disorders. Coeliac disease is a lifelong gastrointestinal disorder caused by a sensitivity to proteins found in wheat, barley and rye. Once diagnosed, the treatment is a strict gluten free diet but it is essential that you get a diagnosis before going gluten free to avoid false results.

The SELFCheck Gluten Sensitivity Test is not suitable for children younger than 6 years old or if you have been on a strict gluten free diet for longer than a few weeks. A strict gluten free diet means avoiding all traces of gluten from food and drink containing wheat, barley or rye.
